In February 2009, American Airlines inked a baggage and interline ticketing agreement with Brazil’s low-cost, fastest-growing airliner, GOL. This agreement would allow American Airlines’ passengers bound for Brazil by American to transfer to a GOL flight within Brazil or across South America by purchasing a single ticket for their complete journey, and check their luggage through to their final destination.
