USB 2010 Semi-Annual Update
In-Stat/MDR, Dec 2010, Pages: 55
The year 2010 has been an eventful one for USB. Of course, the biggest story is the continuing roll-out of SuperSpeed USB. Late 2009 saw the first, limited shipments of SuperSpeed, while 2010 has seen increased shipments in the following applications: mobile PCs, desktop PCs, aftermarket cards, external hard disk drives, and USB flash drives. In the mobile space, HP and ASUS have made SuperSpeed available in mobile PCs. Aftermarket Express and PCI card vendors have also introduced SuperSpeed models.
This report includes an update of all 45 five-year annual applications forecasts included in In-Stat’s May 2010 report “USB 2010: SuperSpeed USB Adoption Will Lag the Pace of High-Speed USB Adoption.” It also includes updated five-year annual forecasts for average selling prices for USB host controllers, peripheral controllers, and hub controllers broken down by USB type.
