Croatia Consumer Electronics Report provides industry professionals and strategists, corporate analysts, electronics associations, government departments and regulatory bodies with independent forecasts and competitive intelligence on Croatia's consumer electronics industry.

Croatia’s domestic consumer electronics devices market, defined as the addressable market for computing devices, mobile handsets and AV products, is projected to be worth around US$1.0bn in 2011. Demand is forecast to increase at a CAGR of 5.6% to US$1.3bn by 2015, driven by growing popularity of digital lifestyle products such as flat-screen TV sets, notebooks and digital cameras, as well as rising incomes and lower prices.

Vendors should benefit from mostly improved trading conditions in 2011 with falling unemployment translating into more consumer spending on big-ticket items such as flat-screen TV sets. Consumer electronics retail sales drivers include growing affordability of digital products, retail channel expansion, digital TV conversion and 3G mobile network rollouts. .

BMI forecasts Croatian domestic market computer hardware sales (including notebooks and accessories) of US$574mn in 2011, with single-digit growth compared with 2010. Computer hardware CAGR for the 2011- 2015 period is forecast at about 6.9%, driven by sales of notebooks and netbooks.

After recovering from a sharp slowdown in 2009, a CAGR of around 3.7% is projected for 2011-2015, due largely to continued growth in the digital TV set category. Croatia continued its evolution towards digital TV in 2010.

Mobile Handsets Mobile handset sales accounted for around 18% of Croatian consumer electronics spending in 2009. Croatian market handset sales are expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% to US$233mn in 2015, as mobile subscriber penetration reaches 144%. Sales will be dominated by the replacement market, with growing demand for high-end models and 3G handsets.
