The Taiwanese Feature Phone Industry, 4Q 2010

This report presents forecast and recent quarter review of Taiwanese feature phone shipment volume, shipment value, ASP, volume and share by maker and by price point, and manufacturer volume ranking. The report also includes product mix analyses, including phone type, system technology, display color count mix, embedded camera and camera array format, and handset shape. Assembly levels, production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios are also examined. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with feature phone makers. The report finds that Taiwanese feature phone industry saw significant sequential growth in shipment volume in the third quarter of 2010, and ASP experienced moderate increase as well. With the increase of shipment volume and ASP, shipment value saw further growth as a result. Although shipment volume experienced year-on-year declines in the third quarter, new orders placed by branded vendors are expected to boost the shipment volume in the fourth quarter. It is forecasted that shipment volume will maintain its sequential growth in the fourth quarter of 2010.
