Outlook for the Taiwanese Communications Equipment Industry, 2011 and Beyond

In 2010 the global communications equipment shipment value is estimated to have grown at about 13.4%. According to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), the shipment value of Taiwan's communications industry, including communications component export value, is estimated to have reached NT$1,283.0 billion (US$42.9 billion; US$1=NT$29.9) in full-year 2010, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 31%; the full-year shipment value is estimated to reach NT$1,632.5 billion (US$54.6 billion) in 2011, growing at approximately 27%. This report reviews the development of Taiwan's communications industry in 2010 and provides an outlook for 2011.
