Changes in the nitrogenous and potash markets were as follows in 2010:
(1) Chinese N-fertilizers output was lower than that in 2009 under the function of domestic N-fertilizers output surplus and energy saving; K-fertilizers output continued to increase thanks to the full operating.
(2) Due to the excess capacity of domestic N-fertilizers, urea and the low season export tariffs, the enterprises actively digested the inventory and the urea export volume increased largely; meanwhile, K-fertilizer import volume rose substantially and recovered to the previous levels, which assured supply-demand safety of domest K-fertilizer.
(3) The domestic fertilizer demand increased slightly, of which, urea direct demand rose smally; but K-fertilizers consumption directly used for agriculture drops slightly, more K-fertilizers were directly used for compound fertilizers production.
(4) Influenced by high prices of raw materials, the production cost of urea, SOP, etc, increased compared with 2009.
