A Slice of SaaS Research: Can Small-to-Medium Businesses Really Catch Up to Large Enterprises in SaaS Deployment?
Saugatuck Technology, Sep 2010, Pages: 6
Small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) have indicated to Saugatuck that they are behind larger enterprises (LEs) when it comes to awareness, plans, and deployment of software-as-a-service. Yet SMB executives also indicate that they expect half of their new software deployments to be SaaS by YE 2014. This Strategic Perspective looks at where SMBs are today with SaaS; what their expectations are regarding the shift to SaaS software deployments; the types of business software most likely to be deployed as SaaS; and the challenges that will be raised as a result, including a 'SaaS gap' between SMBs and LEs.
