Project BankMetrics is Asia’s most important initiative to develop a rich repository of actionable and affordable business level data and analytics on the region’s financial services industry.
The project is designed to support business decision makers in banks, as well as regulators, policy makers, consulting firms and supporting industries.
Project BankMetrics is supported by leading domestic and international banks operating in the Asia Pacific region. As the financial services industry in Asia develops in sophistication and competitiveness, there is a growing need for data and insights that describes trends that are unique to this region in an incisive manner.
The data managed under this programme is designed to meet the needs of business users both in banks as well as in organizations that serve the banking industry. The data and analytics are especially for use in product strategy formulation, mergers and acquisitions and counter-party risk evaluations.
This project is funded by charter, participating members and subscribers. It is managed by The Asian Banker, the region’s foremost provider of intelligence to the industry.
The business goals of this project Project BankMetrics is designed to achieve the following business goals: 1. To build the most authoritative and independent library of business level data and analytics that is unique to the financial services industry in the Asia Pacific region; 2. To maintain a library of data, analytics and rankings in a manner that can help players benchmark their own businesses against best practice in the industry; 3. To track current developments on a continuous basis. 4. To create a community of users whose insights contribute to the quality and relevance of this project to the industry. 5. To function as a research and development laboratory for identifying new models and responses for financial institutions in the Asia Pacific region.
