Summary
Europe’s growing energy demand is driving exploration for more energy resources such as tight gas. The depletion in North Sea assets and Gazprom’s monopoly are the major concerns for different European countries. Countries such as the Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia and Poland are focusing on developing and producing tight gas. All tight gas wells in European countries are currently in the development stage. Production is expected to start from the second half of 2011. Europe, being one of the bigger net energy importers in the world, is trying to find different sources of energy to meet its demand.
