LTE in Asia-Pacific: The Current Situation
Ovum, Dec 2010, Pages: 22
The 2.5GHz band has emerged as the preferred standard for LTE first-movers in Asia-Pacific. However, there are plenty of exceptions to this rule. Japan has reassigned spectrum in the 1.5GHz band for LTE, South Korea has auctioned spectrum in the 800MHz and 900MHz bands, and China Mobile has launched an ambitious plan to deploy TD-LTE. Digital dividend spectrum, which is desired by a number of operators, will only become available in most countries in the medium term.
