Palm oil, a kind of edible vegetable oil, is derived from the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm tree. Palm oil production has gained importance in the recent years, as it has many competitive advantages over other competing oils, such as having low cost of production, high yield, and being free from trans-fatty acids.
