Effective eProcurement: Assessing Options for the New "Economic Normal"
Aberdeen Group, Nov 2010
Successful technology management provides an opportunity for procurement departments to meet or even exceed established business targets by increasing spend and capturing savings generated through the innovation it provides. To attain procurement goals through technology in 2010, companies may look to expand, update, or even replace their current platforms. Yet to garner executive support for these investments, eProcurement initiatives will need to demonstrate continued measurable benefits.
Building on previous Aberdeen eProcurement benchmark studies focused on more traditional measures for improving indirect procurement, this study will explore how organizations are managing technology challenges based on the critical success factors for deploying eProcurement technology today.
Best-in-Class Performance
Aberdeen used the following three key performance criteria to distinguish Best-in-Class performance:
- 2.4 days to on-board a new supplier of goods - 3.2 days to on-board a new supplier of services - 86% of purchase orders compliant with existing contracts
Reasons to purchase:
- On-Board Suppliers Faster - Cut Costs - Make Catalog Changes Quicker
