The 2010 Executive Coaching Survey: A Summary of Key Executive Coaching Practices
The Conference Board, March 2010, Pages: 19
This survey on Executive Coaching focuses on external coaching practices as well as the growing use of internal coaching. How long do coaching engagements last? How much time do coaches spend with a client per month? What types of coaching are performed? What are some criteria for choosing between an internal and external coach? Results for both types of coaches are featured in this report, which also includes a global comparison of rates and, where available, comparisons to previous surveys on executive coaching.
The 2010 Executive Coaching Survey is the third in a series of bi-annual surveys that study how executive coaching is managed within organizations. The first Executive Coaching Survey, conducted in 2005 and released in 2006, was designed to study trends in executive coaching. The 2008 survey was expanded in scope to include internal coaching and fee structures. The 2010 survey was broadened to focus more on both external coaching practices and the growing use of internal coaching.
Respondent organizations were generally large: 49 percent had annual revenues of $10 billion or more in FY08; 51 percent had 25,000 or more employees. The organizations were predominantly global—with 56 percent operating in more than 25 countries—and came from a wide range of industry segments. The survey targeted profit, nonprofit, and government organizations.
