The Baylor Health Care System (BHCS) offers a bundle of services. Founded in 1981, it was governed by Baylor University until establishing autonomy in 1997. The not-for-profit medical network serves seven counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex through more than a dozen hospitals and medical centers, including the Baylor University Medical Center complex, one of the state`s major teaching and referral facilities. Other system members include rehabilitation facilities and primary care, senior health, and family health centers. The system also provides home health care and specialized pediatric services.
