Wastewater Treatment Makes it onto the Agenda
Business News Americas, Jan 2010, Pages: 12
Most countries in Latin America still have a lot of ground to cover in terms of potable water services, and could even to be said to be losing ground as demographics and industrialization create increasing demand for the surface water that is already available. This means wastewater treatment is a relatively low priority compared to the need to improve water capturing and distribution. However, it is worth the while of governments in this region to keep abreast of the wastewater treatment options prevalent in the developed world, and some Latin American countries have already come a long way along this path.
