Report includes:

Drilling Operations Wells Data in-depth (2008-2010)

This section aims at analysing the count of wells drilled during the fiscal years of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.

These in-depth comparisons are divided into four main divisions: discovery, offshore development, on-shore development and exploration wells. Each division provides various points of comparison, such as well classification, well status, operators' wells and also basins where wells lie.

The following graphs reflect the wheel of drilling operations, pre-global economic recession (2008), during recession (2009) and post-recession when a recovery phase is taking place (2010).

1. Discovery Wells

Throughout the period from 2008 to 2010 (Q2), the total number of discovery wells totalled 87 wells, out of which 41 wells were drilled in 2008. This number dropped to 25 discovery wells in 2009, while in 2010, till the second quarter, the number of discovery wells counted for 21 wells, which reflect possible increase of discovery wells by the end of the year. In 2008, there were six offshore wells and 36 onshore wells.

As the number of total discovery wells dropped in 2009, the number of onshore wells decreased to 24 wells and one sole offshore discovery wells. Until the third quarter of 2010, all discovery wells were onshore ones.
