This report presents forecast and recent quarter review of overall Taiwanese mobile handheld device shipment volume. This report also includes forecast and recent quarter review of Smartphone shipment volume, shipment value, and APS, and analyzes manufacturer volume rankings, shipment by maker, and price trends. Also provided are shipment breakdowns by system technology, operating systems, display, embedded Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, and examines production locations, shipment destinations, and customer portfolios. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with Smartphone makers. The report finds that the double-digit year-on-year shipment growth rate recorded by the Taiwanese Smartphone industry in the third quarter of 2010 continued into the fourth quarter. ASP (Average Selling Price) also picked up in the same quarter. It is projected that the industry will continue to see sequential and year-on-year growth in shipment volume despite sequential declines in shipment value in the first quarter of 2011.
