The Hospital Market For Surgical Gowns In France

This report examines in detail the hospital market for surgical gowns in France in 2008 and 2009. A distinction is made between those with overlapping backs and those with non-overlapping backs. Surgical gowns with overlapping are further subdivided into : standard, reinforced, standard with thumbhook and reinforced with thumbhook.
For each product category, the report gives market size in volume and in value, market structure in volume and in value and market shares in volume. Consumption figures were collected directly from hospitals, then analysed using linear regression. Analyses were performed for each category of hospital within the public and the private sectors separately.
Demand for surgical gowns has steadily increased over years to reach 25 million euros in 2009, of which approximately 40 per cent were accounted for by private hospitals. Overall, Cardinal Health/CareFusion dominates the market, followed by Mölnlycke and Hydrex. Other suppliers of importance include 3M, EIF, Kimberly Clark, Lohmann & Rauscher and Hartmann.
