Surgical gowns with overlapping are further subdivided into : standard, reinforced, standard with thumbhook and reinforced with thumbhook.

Overall, Cardinal Health/CareFusion dominates the market, followed by Mölnlycke and Hydrex. Other suppliers of importance include 3M, EIF, Kimberly Clark, Lohmann & Rauscher and Hartmann.
