This report examines in detail the market for Yankauer suction tubes and sets in France in 2008 and 2009. A distinction is made between the different types: flexible, rigid and with on-off vacuum control system (Selectrol type). Flexible and rigid tubes and sets are further subdivided into: tip only and tip with connecting tube.
For each product type, the report gives market size in volume and in value, market structure in volume and in value and market shares in volume. Consumption figures were collected directly from hospitals, then analysed using linear regression. Analyses were performed for each category of hospital within the public and the private sectors separately.
The French market for Yankauer suction tubes and sets was valued at over two million euros in 2009 of which some 55 per cent were accounted for by private hospitals. Overall, Tyco/Covidien dominates the market, followed by Cardinal Health/CareFusion. Other suppliers include Unomedical, Péters, IHT Clinical, Vygon and Bard.
