Face the music: Digital technologies and changing consumer preferences will stifle demand
Audio Production Studios in the US
Lowering the volume
The Audio Production Studios industry is entering into the decline phase of its life cycle as studios struggle to adapt to the new digital marketplace. Revenue is forecast to decline over the next five years as key downstream markets struggle to maintain growth in the face of digital music sharing and as TV, film and advertising industries take more of their sound recording operations in-house. However, the decline will be slightly mitigated by improved advertising budgets.
Firms in this industry provide facilities and technical expertise for sound recording in a studio. Industry firms may provide audio production or postproduction services for producing master recordings, and may provide audio services for film, television, and video productions. After the recording has taken place studios also offer post-production services to fine tune music recordings.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
