Japanese automakers and suppliers are likely to see deteriorated operating and financial performance in fiscal 2011 due to significant production cuts resulting from parts shortages following the March 11 earthquake. In our opinion, extended production cuts may erode Japanese automakers' market shares and competitive positions in the longer term. We revised the outlooks on the ratings on six Japanese automakers and suppliers to negative from stable. We affirmed the ratings on the companies.
