107 Ratings Lowered On 32 U.S. Alternative-A RMBS Transactions Issued Between 2001-2004; 240 Ratings Affirmed Nov 09

Abstract
OVERVIEW We reviewed 43 RMBS transactions backed by U.S. Alt-A mortgage loan collateral issued between 2001 and 2004. We lowered our ratings on 107 classes from 32 of these transactions. We affirmed our ratings on 240 classes from the 43 transactions we reviewed. We removed 13 of the lowered ratings and 29 of the affirmed ratings from CreditWatch negative. The downgrades reflect our belief that credit enhancement for the downgraded classes is insufficient to cover projected losses due to increased delinquencies and the current negative condition of the U.S. housing market.
