Autostrade's Proposed Guaranteed ?10 Bil GMTN Program and ?2 Bil Bank Facilities Rated 'A' May 04

Abstract MILAN (Standard & Poor's) May 12, 2004--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has assigned its 'A' senior unsecured debt rating to the proposed -10 billion Global Medium Term Note (GMTN) program to be issued by Italian toll road operator Autostrade SpA (A/Stable/A-1) and its subsidiary Autostrade Participations S.A. In addition, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'A' senior unsecured debt rating to the -2 billion proposed bank facilities to be granted to the parent. The notes and facilities will be guaranteed by Autostrade per l'Italia SpA, the main operating entity of the Autostrade group.
