Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that RadioShack Corp.'s (A-/Stable/A-2) announcement that it has lowered earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2002 has no immediate impact on the company's credit rating or outlook. The revised guidance reflects a sharp drop-off in sales during August, a result of declining consumer demand. Although forecasted results are below Standard & Poor's expectations, RadioShack's strong position in the electronics industry and its stable cash flow mitigate the effect of an economic downturn on the company....
