Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A-' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR), with a stable outlook, on MedStar Health Inc., Md.'s health care revenue bonds, issued by District of Columbia and Maryland Health & Higher Educational Facilities Authority. Standard & Poor's also affirmed its 'AAA/A-1+' rating on District of Columbia's series 1998A Tranche 1 based on the application of joint criteria, using low correlation, with the long-term rating based jointly on the letter of credit provider, Wachovia Bank NA (AA/Negative) and MedStar Health, and the short-term rating based on liquidity support from Wachovia Bank NA.
