Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A' long-term rating on Jefferson County, Ark.'s series 2001 bonds, issued for Jefferson Hospital Association Inc. (JHA), which owns and operates Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC). The series 2001 bonds are the only long-term debt obligation JHA has outstanding. The rating outlook is stable. The rating reflects our assessment of JHA's: Dominant market position as the sole community provider in its primary service area, Jefferson County, with an approximately 79% market share; Strong maximum annual debt service (MADS) coverage of 4.5x through the eight months ended Feb. 28, 2011, and 5.7x for fiscal 2010 (year ended June 30); and Solid balance sheet, with very low debt leverage of 15.0% and ample liquidity, with...
