Fuel Cell Membrane & Electrode Assembly Short Course - Webcast & Course Documentation
Knowledge Press, Aug 2010, Pages: 345
In this short course, you will see the state-of-the-art membrane electrode assembly (MEA) prepared starting from catalyst powders, Nafion 117 and gas diffusion layers using the catalyst coated membrane (CCM) technique. You will view polarization and stripping voltammetry data using the MEA, after training on a potentiostat-galvanostat. Experts will guide you through analysis of the MEA data.
Virtual Lab Activities Include:
- Catalysts ink preparation with Johnson Matthey or attendee-supplied catalyst - Use of temperature controlled vacuum table for MEA fabrication by CCM technique - Fuel cell assembly, instrumentation and flow manifold - Acquisition of half- & full-cell polarization curves, and stripping voltammograms - Instructor-guided analysis of your MEA data.
Lecture Topics Include
- Overview of polymer electrolyte fuel cells - Electrode kinetics and mass transport fundamentals - Electrochemical characterization of fuel cells - Membrane electrode assembly failure modes - X-ray methods of catalyst characterization Advantages of Attending the Live Webcast:
- View conference video - Listen to audio - View speaker's PowerPoint presentations - Download a PDF of the conference documentation
