The logistics sector increased in 2010 by 5% to reach a mammoth $248bn. This was primarily buoyed by the rising GDP and turnaround in trade which was up 5.7% over the previous year.
Road freight (including express) is a major component of the logistics market, responsible for 43.0% of all domestic freight transport with a total value of $110.4bn in 2010.Warehousing is the second largest segment with a contribution of 35.0%, while sea, rail, air (including express), inland waterways,and VAS contribute a combined share of 22.2%.
