The economic slowdown caused by the crisis in 2008 appears to have lost its effect, as global enterprises are experiencing growth in the region. Network improvement, increase of productivity, better understanding of the offer, and mobility are the main drivers for the market.

During 2010 the videoconferencing market in Latin America generated revenues of $ xx.x million. The compound annual growth rate(CAGR) expected from 2010 to 2017 is xx.x percent. The economics lowdown caused by the crisis in 2008 appears to be left behind, as global enterprises turning around for the region. Network improvement, increase of productivity, better understanding of the offer and mobility are the major drivers for the market.

The acquisitions made during 2009(T and berg by Cisco; Aethra assets by RADVISION and Life Size by Logitech), were consolidated during 2010. These companies are likely to meet their expected level of functionality after acquisition, by 2011,with more complete and competitive offers. Despite industry concentration, the prices are expected to decline during the mediumterm, as the technologies for videoconferencing will become more accessible.

In the last few years, videoconferencing has been adopted increasingly due to globalization, productivity benefits, mobility and the need to save travel costs, and these should remain the main reasons in the years to come. In this scenario, telepresence segment has been registering the maximum growth in the Latin American videoconferencing market, with an estimated CAGR of xx.x percent from 2010 to 2017. On the other hand, conference rooms and executive desktop systems are likely to grow in demand among SMBs, which constitute an under penetrated market.

Brazil and Mexico are likely to become the key markets for the next few years. 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, both to be held at Brazil, will help to boost investments.
