Network Automation 2011: Research Highlights
Enterprise Management Associates, Feb 2011, Pages: 2
In November 2010, EMA conducted primary research regarding the usage of automated network management tools and technologies, referred to as 'Network Automation.' Over 100 mid-level network managers, engineers, and architects from organizations of at least 1000 employees contributed their experiences and opinions Over 80% were actively using or in the process of deploying Network Automation, and the balance were planning deployment within the next six months.
The results of this study clearly show that Network Automation is having a positive effect on organizations that have embraced and deployed it, particularly in terms of reducing error rates and enabling significant new projects such as IPv6 rollout. There also appears to be ample forward-looking demand for further adoption. But despite these positive factors, there are still common misperceptions about the risks posed by Network Automation.
