Cisco Systems (Cisco) announced the acquisition of newScale in April 2011. Cisco and newScale have been active partners over the past year proving the value product set in Cisco's market and the viability of combined organizations. newScale is among the oldest and most established service catalog vendors having been founded in September, 2000. The company brings mature service catalog technology and a seasoned team to Cisco. Together, the companies will utilize the technology to advance Cisco's overarching Cloud computing strategy where newScale technology will serve as the storefront for Cloud services with its Amazon-like interface.
