Why the Stonebranch/Opswise Merger Heralds a New Era in Workload Automation
Enterprise Management Associates, April 2011, Pages: 3
Workload Automation Management (WLA) is a mainstay of data center automation, as well as a foundation for processing critical business information in context with a growing variety of application services, in a wide range of verticals such as financial services, healthcare, government, transportation, and so on. However, WLA has largely matured in something of a technology 'ghetto' linked to a legacy approach to automating batch submissions, often in mainframe environments, without attention to broader capacity issues or increasingly dynamic requirements for responsive, 'event-driven' automation. Even as the number and variety of platforms spread and more 'consolidated job scheduling' systems emerge, the deeper issues of visibility and responsiveness have so far remained largely unanswered.
This impact analysis examines the merger of Stonebranch and OpsWise in Q1, 2011 - a combination which includes established market reach and breadth of coverage with an innovative approach to responsive capacity optimization with distinctive levels of visibility and control.
