BMC Delivers a Comprehensive Solution for Cloud Lifecycle Management

On April 26, BMC announced a broad set of capabilities for supporting cloud computing requirements. These include support for a wide variety of IT and business roles for planning, provisioning, managing, optimizing and retiring cloud services with a strong focus on governance, responsiveness, adaptability and service accountability. More specifically, BMC introduced: Service Blueprints (for designing cloud services in terms of components and deployment models), Service Governor (an intelligent, policy-based engine for processing service requests in order to optimize available resources while also ensuring that governance and compliance requirements are addressed), and an enhanced Service Catalog and Self-service Portal. The announcement also leverages significant advances in the real-time management and optimization of cloud resources through capabilities such as BMC’s BSM Proactive Operations, in which performance management and capacity-related analytics are conjoined to address the more dynamic, cross-domain nature of cloud services.
