Bulletin: City of Buenos Aires Ratings And Outlook Unaffected By Potential Bond Issuance

Abstract BUENOS AIRES (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 24, 2008--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that neither its issuer credit rating and outlook (B+/Positive/--) nor its national scale rating (raAA/Positive/--) on the City of Buenos Aires will be affected by the potential issuance of up to Argentine peso 1.6 billion (about US$500 million) in government bonds. The city government is planning to raise this amount both locally and internationally in one or more series with a minimum maturity of seven years. The administration of Mauricio Macri (who took office on Dec. 10, 2007) is planning this bond issuance as part of a comprehensive plan to boost the city's infrastructure (the initiative was already approved by the city's legislature).
