Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services expects ratings on Danish life insurers to remain broadly stable over the next two years. We consider economic risk in the Kingdom of Denmark (AAA/Stable/A-1+) to be moderately low, and regard life insurance industry risk as moderate. Denmark is probably the most mature life insurance market in the Scandinavian region on the basis of the highest insurance penetration, but some areas are still developing. Despite this high penetration, both new and total business are continuing to display substantial and steady growth, particularly the rapidly developing unit-linked sector.
