Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has raised its issuer credit rating to 'AA' from 'AA-' on Horry County School District, SC's GO bonds outstanding. The upgrade reflects the district's continued strong financial performance and management oversight coupled with a continually expanding tax base despite the overall economic slowdown. Standard & Poor's has also assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the district's series 2009 GO bonds based on the district's own credit characteristics with a minimum floor rating based on the 'AA' enhanced rating reflecting the security provided by the South Carolina State Education Finance Program.
