Alcoholic Drinks Packaging in Japan
Euromonitor International, Nov 2010, Pages: 35
The fastest growing category in 2009 and 2010 was low/non-alcohol beer. The fines for drinking and driving have become higher in Japan since September 2007, in part leading to a slowdown in alcoholic drinks sales. Low/non-alcohol beer is less expensive than the standard domestic lager and hence was perhaps more favoured during the economic slowdown. Low/non-alcohol beer unit volumes are also expected to see high growth in the forecast period.
The Alcoholic Drinks Packaging in Japan report offers insight into key trends and developments driving packaging across the category. The report also examines trends and prospect for various pack types and closures: metal packaging, rigid plastic, glass, liquid cartons, paper-based containers; flexible packaging.
