Regarded as one of the best healthcare systems in the world not very long ago, a number of issues have begun to plague the Canadian healthcare system over the past decade or so. The unique jurisdictional design of healthcare in Canada has made for varied levels of care across the country, often making it difficult to qualify and quantify issues and quality of care at the national level. Funding, health human resources, the geography of the country, and the need for a shift from a reactive to proactive model of healthcare delivery have been some of the major issues seen in Canada over the past few years.
