Introduction to the HIPAA Standard Course

The US Congress, in an effort to protect healthcare data from fraud and abuse, created the HIPAA Standard (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) through the Dept. of Health and Human Services. HIPAA establishes national standards for electronic healthcare transactions, a core element being the Administration Simplification provisions. Introduction to the HIPAA Standard clearly presents the various administrative, physical and technical safeguards and security procedures involved in combating unauthorized access to Electronic Personal Healthcare Information (EPHI).
