Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Paraguay Senior Unsecured Notes Assigned 'B+' Rating Jan 11

Abstract BUENOS AIRES (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 24, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today it has assigned its 'B+' senior unsecured debt rating to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Paraguay S.A.'s (BBVA Paraguay, B+/Positive/B) forthcoming senior unsecured notes. The rating on the notes is the same as the long-term counterparty credit rating on BBVA Paraguay, reflecting our view that the notes will rank on par with other existing and future unsecured and unsubordinated obligations and that they will be direct, unsecured, and senior obligations of the bank. The bank will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, mainly to fund their long-term lending activities in U.S. dollars.
