Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned credit ratings to Foncaixa Hipotecario 11, Fondo de Titulizaci-n de Activos' -6.5 billion floating-rate notes. The originator of the loans backing the residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) is Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona (la Caixa), one of the largest primary lenders in the Spanish financial market. At closing, Foncaixa 11 acquired credit rights backed by first drawdowns of prime mortgage-backed credit lines ("cr-dito abierto") and prime mortgage-backed loans (see "Notable Features"). To fund this purchase, it issued three classes of notes. At closing, a subordinated loan funded the reserve fund at 2% of the original principal balance of the loan portfolio.
