Research Update: Comision Federal De Electricidad (CFE) 'BBB' Rating Affirmed; Outlook Stable Dec 10

Abstract
The incorporation of LFC's operations was seamless and may prove beneficial for CFE. We are affirming our long-term foreign-currency corporate credit rating on CFE at 'BBB'. We do not expect any changes in CFE's autonomy or its links with the Mexican federal government. On Dec. 17, 2010, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its foreign-currency long-term corporate credit rating on Comisi-n Federal De Electricidad (CFE) at 'BBB'. We also affirmed our 'A' long-term local-currency corporate credit rating on CFE. The outlook is stable. Our ratings on CFE reflect our opinion that there is an almost certain likelihood that the United Mexican States would provide timely and sufficient extraordinary support to CFE in the event of financial distress.
