Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A+' rating to the Iowa Board of Regents' $20 million series I.S.U. 2005 academic building revenue bonds, issued on behalf of the Iowa State University of Science and Technology, also called Iowa State University (ISU). Standard & Poor's also affirmed its ratings on various outstanding debt pledges related to the university. The rating on the series 2005 bonds reflects a gross student tuition pledge and the following general institutional strengths: Strong historical financial support from the state of Iowa ('AA/Stable' ICR) due to its status as a land-grant institution; Balanced overall financial performance; Adequate liquidity for a public university, with 2004 unrestricted net assets equal to 29% of expenses and 82% of pro...
