The 'AAA' long-term rating assigned to Madison Area Technical College District, Wis.' general obligation (GO) promissory notes series 2010-11A reflects the district's: Large, diverse, and growing economic base with consistently low unemployment rates; Strong economic indicators; Strong financial operations and reserves; and Low to moderate debt burden with rapid amortization. The district's unlimited-tax GO pledge secures payment of debt service on the bonds. The 'AAA' long-term rating on the district's previously issued debt has been affirmed. The 4,326-square-mile district serves an area that includes all of Dane County, including Madison; four other counties; and portions of seven additional counties.
