Abstract In December 2009, Standard & Poor's chief economist and some of Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' top analysts gathered for a roundtable discussion to contemplate the prospects facing the global economy and the credit markets in 2010. At the time, stock markets were up and housing prices were rising, but U.S. unemployment remained high, and the global economy had seemingly withstood the recent debt crisis in Dubai.
