NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) July 14, 2008--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it assigned its 'AA' standard long-term rating and stable outlook to Santa Clara Unified School District, Calif.'s series 2008 general obligation (GO) bonds. We also affirmed our 'AA' rating on the district's outstanding GO bonds and affirmed our 'AA-' rating on the district's outstanding certificates of participation (COPs). Standard & Poor's also revised the rating outlook to stable from negative. "The outlook revision is based on the district's positive operations prior to transfers in fiscal 2007, and its maintenance of adequate reserve levels, with similar performance projected for fiscal 2008," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Jim Tchou.
