Abstract Frontier Communications Corp. is one of the largest independent providers of diversified telecommunication services in the U.S. The Connecticut-based company offers local and long-distance telephone service, broadband internet, digital television service, and computer technical support to rural area and small and midsize towns and cities for residential and business customers in 27 states. On May 5, 2011, Frontier Communications reported first-quarter 2011 earnings of $0.06 per share, lower than the $0.33 recorded for the same quarter the prior year, but in line with the Capital IQ first-quarter estimate.
