Abstract
The insurer financial strength rating on Allstate Insurance Co. and related group members (see table 5) (collectively, AIC) reflects its excellent market position, better-than-average underwriting results, and strong capitalization. Excellent market position. AIC commands a 13% share of the U.S. personal lines insurance market, second only to State Farm Insurance Co. (State Farm). Collectively, these two organizations account for one-third of total personal property/casualty (P/C) insurance sales in the U.S. In comparison, the next largest competitor has a market share that is one-half of AIC's.
