BULLETIN: Ameren's Illinois Utilities' Rate-Increase Filings Do Not Affect Rating Jan 06

Abstract NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 3, 2006--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that Ameren Corp.'s (BBB+/Watch Neg/A-2) Illinois-based utilities' filings with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) for three separate electricity delivery service rate hikes totaling about $200 million, if approved, would benefit Ameren's consolidated financial profile, especially its adjusted FFO to total debt ratio, which is somewhat weak. The filings, however, do not immediately affect the rating on the company. As contemplated by existing legislation, the companies, Central Illinois Public Service Co. (BBB+/Watch Neg/--), Central Illinois Light Co. (BBB+/Watch Neg/--), and Illinois Power Co.
