NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Sept. 25, 2000--Standard & Poor's today assigned its triple-'B'-plus corporate credit rating to Ameren Corp.'s unregulated generating subsidiary AmerenEnergy Generating Co.(AEGC). In addition, Standard & Poor's assigned its triple-'B'-plus rating to AEGC's $200 million senior notes, series A due 2005 and $200 million senior notes, series B due 2010. At the same time Standard & Poor's affirmed its ratings on Ameren, but lowered its ratings on Ameren's regulated utilities, Union Electric Co.(UE, doing business as AmerenUE) and Central Illinois Public Service Co.(CIPS, doing business as AmerenCIPS).
